Growing up with Traditional Chinese Medicine
Lee, whose grandparents practiced Traditional Chinese Medicine grew up experiencing the nectar of this traditional discipline. At that time, Chinese medicine was very frequently used for treatment of common illnesses and diseases. Whenever we were sick, we would always try Chinese herbal medicine first before seeing the doctor.
"I can still remember the time before I was ten and got sick, my grandma would come to our house to treat me. After sterilizing some needles with alcohol and fire, she would performed acupuncture on my temple and neck areas. Immediately the fever will subside and the following day, I was able to get up and attend school. Really amazing..... but though I got well, I dreaded it because I had to go to school sooner than I really wanted to! Hmm....., however, my interest in Chinese medicine grew and the ambition was embedded from then on."
Kam grew up and started training in muscle therapy or “tuina” under his Kung Fu teacher while practicing Chinese martial arts in his teens in Malaysia.
Licensure
Kam immigrated to the States in 1981 and started his Florida State Approved Acupuncture Physician Program in Five Elements Acupuncture under Dr. Kowalski Acupuncture and Holistic Health Center in 1991 and after passing his Florida State Board exam, obtained his Acupuncture Physician license in 1994. He had since practiced in Jacksonville and Orange Park (1994 - 2022) and is currently the owner of Kam Lee Center in Fleming Island, Florida.
Continuing Education
Apart from his training of Traditional and Classical Acupuncture, Kam was certified as an Advanced NAET (Numbudripad Allergy Elimination Technique) practitioner in 2003. Most importantly his continued training in Tung’s Acupuncture with Dr. Palden Carson M.D. WTAA, a disciple of the renowned Chinese Acupuncturist, Master Tung (1915 – 1975) has advanced his efficacy on the techniques of Acupuncture. The late Master Tung was famous for his outstanding and often quick results obtained by using only very few Acupuncture needles.
Kam completed his Advanced Tung's Orthodox Acupuncture in 2006 under Dr. Carson and has implemented this method of treatment exclusively in his practice with great results. Dr. Carson who is also trained in Sports Medicine and surgery in Taiwan, is from Tibet and currently practices Acupuncture in Toronto, Canada.
Philosophy
Kam's philosophy and approach to wellness is based on educating the patients and planting the seed of understanding to guide the patients and students in living a well-balance lifestyle.
